Building Black Political
Power in Durham
Our Priorities
-
Affordable Housing & Homeownership – Expanding access to safe, affordable rental housing and creating pathways for Black residents to build wealth through homeownership.
-
Economic Empowerment – Supporting Black-owned businesses, workforce development, and equitable access to contracts, jobs, and capital.
-
Community Safety & Justice – Advancing policies that protect Black communities, promote fair policing practices, and invest in community-based safety initiatives.
-
Health & Environmental Justice – Addressing health disparities and protecting Black neighborhoods from environmental harms while ensuring access to clean air, water, and green spaces.
-
Civic Engagement & Political Representation – Educating and mobilizing Black voters to ensure strong representation and voice in local and regional decision-making.
-
Youth Empowerment – Investing in Black youth through educational support and career exposure, including expanding paid summer youth employment opportunities and soft skills-building programs that prepare young people for long-term success.
We are dedicated to advancing the Black community in Durham and beyond, advocating for policies that uplift and protect our communities, and educating residents on key political issues to empower future generations.
